I wonder: health care to auto worker unions

without comments

I wonder why President Obama feels the need to rush to have a health care bill done by the end of the year. Could it be that he realizes that there is no way such a bill could be passed on a election year. And if everything went wrong during a election year there is a chanced that the republicans might gain enough seats to assure the President Obama’s plan would get voted down. When ever the government rushes into something it seems to back fire. Look at the tarp bill and how screwed up that became.

I wonder why musicians just cannot find a way to update their tour pages. You would figure that it would be a priority because they make money by having people attending their concerts.

I wonder why a musician would have a website that ask for comment and then have all comments approved before they are posted. I figure that you would want to have people to leave their comment so conversations might happen about a your current post. It is hard for that to happen when you approve your comments once a week. It could reduce the traffic to your website.

I wonder when it comes time for the auto workers to negotiate their contract with Chrysler who will the Auto workers union side with. The union pick one of the manufactures to negotiate with at the beginning to set the parameters with the other two manufactures. Since the union owns 55% of Chrysler, will they always be picked Chrysler first to start the negotiations with ? If they are, will the union have the best interest of Chrysler or the auto workers or union itself. The best deal for Chrysler and its workers might not be in the best interest of the union. For some reason I have a feeling that no matter how much money is given to Chrysler that it is going to fail because of this arrangement.

5-6-09 random thoughts from Chrysler to prayer

without comments

It seems like it has been forever since I did some quick random thoughts. So we go.

You would figure that if you go to the government and beg for some money that you would not close one of your production plants and move the jobs to another country.  I guess that Chrysler did not think this through.   They announced the other day that they are going to close their engine plant in Wisconsin and move it to Mexico.   If I was President Obama, I would be on the phone informing them that they will not be getting a more money from the government.   If they want some money they should go to Mexico because that is where they are send American jobs to.

When I get my hair cut I like to keep my eyes closed.  The one bad thing about doing this is when they are done cutting my hair I get to see all of those gray hairs that I have been just cut.   It seems that I have way to many grey hairs.   Getting old stinks.

If you get the time, please take some time and read the compassion bloggers post from India.  And if you have not yet consider sponsoring a child please do.   You are more then rescuing a child from poverty.  You are enriching your life in the process.

Remember the other week when the government decided to terrorize Manhattan with the low fly over with Air force one.   The government claimed that it was for training purposes and pictures were taken.   Now they refuse to release those pictures.   Could it be that they lied to us.   Maybe it was not a training exercise as they claim.   Maybe there are no pictures taken at all?

If you have not market it on your calendar, make sure that you mark down May 7th as National day of Prayer.   I try to make that I pray for our service people and for President Obama every night before I go to bed, but  I am not good at praying for our local government employees.   So if I get the chance on May 7th please take some time and to pray for our leaders.

I hope that you all have a great day.

4/9/09 random thoughts from baseball to a Presidential bow.

without comments

I am glad that baseball season has started again.   That means that green grass and leaves on the trees will soon be following.  It also means that there will cookouts on the grill while listening to a great game on the radio.

Have you read the story about the controversy about a certain vanity plate in Colorado.  Someone did not think it out before they ordered their vanity plates.

Ever since a couple of my fellow co-workers talked about how they posed for their mug shots, I have been fascinated by how people posed for them.   I found that the smoking gun website is a good place to see some funny mug shots.   It is amazing how many people look drunk in their mug shots.

It is so hard to wrap my mind around in how Jesus was living his last few day alive, roughly two thousand years ago, knowing that He was going die a horrible death.

I wonder if former President Bush had bowed to a foreign leader if he would be getting a pass by press the way that President Obama is?

God bless you all.

What is more important? Pig stink or our service men and women.

without comments

Recently at work one of my fellow coworkers stated how happy he was that President Obama had been elected President.   He said it was because of President Obama that we now see that President Bush was a great President.   I laughed when he made that comment, but now I agree with him

President Obama is dishonoring our men and women who serve this country with great honor.  Just to propose that our country should not longer pay for the continue medical care of our wounded service personal is just plain outrageous.   To complain about the cost of the medical care is a joke.  This President has spent over a trillion dollars so far and there is no end in sight with his spending spree.  I guess in President Obama’s eyes our service men and women are not as important as to why pigs stink.

This is just my opinion, but no ball player is worth that type of money.

The IRS has put out a new bulletin:

Payment Scams Starting

IR-2008-11, Jan. 30, 2008

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today warned taxpayers to beware of several current e-mail and telephone scams that use the IRS name as a lure. The IRS expects such scams to continue through the end of tax return filing season and beyond. The IRS cautioned taxpayers to be on the lookout for scams involving proposed advance payment checks. Although the government has not yet enacted an economic stimulus package in which the IRS would provide advance payments, known informally as rebates to many Americans, a scam which uses the proposed rebates as bait has already cropped up.The goal of the scams is to trick people into revealing personal and financial information, such as Social Security, bank account or credit card numbers, which the scammers can use to commit identity theft. (to read more click here. Those who have received a questionable telephone call that claims to come from the IRS may also use the phishing@irs.gov mailbox to notify the IRS of the scam.

I hope that you do not recieve such an e-mail, but if do please contact the IRS with the above link.

my life right now

with one comment

Here are few things going on in my life right now.

1) I finished the book called Static. I had started reading the book when Shaun Groves started a discussion about the book on his blog. Shaun lost his book so I stopped reading the book hoping that Shaun would find his book and start the discussion again. I realized that the discussion would never start again so I finished the book.

2) I started a new book called Velvet Elvis. It is interesting and I do see where the author is coming from at times.

3) I thought that winter was suppose to be over with and spring was suppose to start last week. Yet, on the first full day of spring, we get fourteen inches of snow. Where is this global warming I keep on hearing about?

4) We need a simpler tax code. It still took me over an hour to do my taxes and I was using one of the tax programs. Am I crazy for not writing off the money I give to my church or the money I give to Compassion or other Christian ministries. For some reason I feel like the government does not need to know to what ministries I support or how much money I am giving them.
