So you might find it strange that I did not watch or listen to the State of the Union Address. It no longer interest me in that way. I felt like that it was going to be a campaign speech. Those supporting and against President Obama have started to run campaign advertisement on the tv and radio. It is just too much and too soon for this. I now understand why people are so turned off by the process.

This country has way too many problems that need to be address, but they never will be if the politicians  are always campaigning. It’s sad that it will be two years before anything will get done to address the problems this country faces.

Trying to find a doctor is like me banging my head against the desk. They both leave me with a headache that is self induced.

I know that this sounds stupid, but the doctor I pick I need to be able to pronounce his or her name. If I am unable to pronounce their name, how can I be sure that we will not have communication issues. Then what is this DO or MD doctor. Which one is better. The next thing that I require is a degree from here in the states. I just do not feel comfortable with someone being my doctor who graduated from some college that I am not sure if they are really a college. I am also not sure how I feel about a woman being my doctor. Just what I need is some attractive lady who is my doctor seeing me naked while having her hand at a certain spot telling me to cough. Um. That might lead to a very very embarrassing issue. I am also trying to pick the right age for a doctor. Do I pick someone older or younger. The older doctor has more experience, but the younger doctor will be up with the lasted information.

Why does this has be so difficult? I think that I bang my head against the desk. Maybe I can knock myself out and not think about this a while.

(my friend beth explained MD DO  Where they got their degree. MD stands for Medical Doctor while DO stands for Osteopathic Doctor. Some say DOs have less training, etc. I’m not sure. Some states will not license DOs to work without and MD supervising, etc. They have more training than a PA or NP. )

This last weekends service was about hitting the wall. About feeling like you are not getting anything from attending church. The essence of the sermon was that even though you feel like you are not getting anything from the service you are a blessing to God by showing up. You might be a bad singer with a horrible voice, (that’s me) but God loves hearing you sing. You might not even know it, but there could be a person who just needs to see you or talk to you while attending service who’s faith is strengthen by you being there. If you based where you worshiped on getting that fuzzy feeling, you will spend all your life church hopping and will never find a true home of worship.

It was a reminder that going to church is not about me and my feelings. It is all about God. A reminder that I needed to hear. I just hope and pray that keep this message at heart and my attendance will improve this year.

The more I thought about this the more I wonder if it is happening today. Does Satan and God make such a bet over me or over you. What is the restrictions that God puts on those bets.

Think about it. A bad thing happens in your life or a sin that presents itself. Did God allow Satan to do that in your life.

A married woman meets the man of her dreams. A hunk of a guy who listens to her. Who supposedly feels her pain. A guy whom every time the woman sees this guy she wants to rip off his clothing and ride him like no one has ever before. So when this woman is with this guy does Satan the whole time whispers in her ear “No one will know what you did. Your kids and husband will never know. You are horny and you deserve this.” Is it God’s fault when she caves in and has the affair or is it Satan’s fault.

Or how about your child dies a horrible death. God did allow Satan to kill off Job’s children. Was the death of your child a result of a bet on whether you would curse God.

Or how about you get cancer or some other medical issue. Is it result of a bet. God did allow Satan to give Job horrible boils to see if he would curse God. Is there a bet on whether you would curse God.

The more I think of this, the more I struggle with the thought that God is a loving God. How can God make a “bet” on me knowing that I would have to suffer during this time of trial. What guarantee that God will restore me like he restored Job when it was all over.

I understand that there is way way more to the book of Job. I understand that I took a simplistic look at it. It is just one of those things that bounces around my mind on nights that I just cannot sleep.

For those who just bought those albums thank you for buying them. You will enjoy them both.

So what is today’s post about? To be honest I do not know as of now. I just figure I will keep on typing and something of value will be there. Then maybe not. Lets be honest I would bet on the not part.

I am glad that the Bronco lost their game to the Patriots. I am tired of all the Tim Tebow stuff. A poll said that 43% of people believed that God helped Tim win all those games. So, when he loses like he did last Saturday, does that mean God made him lose? Did God abandoned him? Does it mean that there was a more righteous, Godly man on the other team?

If you have been paying attention to the news, you would see that a cruise ship hit something and has capsized. Here is a something that might just help save your life if you are in the water without a life jacket. Take off your pants and tie the end of each pants leg into a knot at the end where your foot would be. Then hold it about your head and pull it down by the waist section of the pants into the water with the leg portion going in last. You would see the leg portions hold air. This could help you remain afloat for a short period time. You would have to then repeat the bring the pants from the air to the water again. Yes. I was taught this during basic training at Great Lakes Naval Base.

Have you seen the TV commercial about winning and taking your friends to the Super Bowl. I have been thinking about that. Do I take friends or do I take family remembers. If I take friends, should I say you have to take your spouse with you. The more you think about it, the more you realize there can and probably would be some hurt feelings over who is taken and not taken.

I have been reading Confessions (Oxford World’s Classics) by Saint Augustine and Henry Chadwick. I have been enjoying this book more than The City of God by Saint Augustine, but still at times it kicks my butt. It is good though to read such classics. They still are relevant in today’s world.

He said, “Is everything okay at the office?”

I said, “Yes, it’s all under control. It’s been a very busy day, I haven’t stopped.”

“Can you do me a favor?” he asked.

I said, “Of course, what is it?”

He said, “Hurry up and take your shot, I’m in the foursome behind you.”

The other day I saw a television show on what people are doing because they think the end of the world is coming. Some are buying an apartment being built-in a missile silo. They also showed someone who was building ships that could be out to sea for over two years thus allowing the inhabitants to be in safety.

I could not help but thinking about that ship being built. I began to think of a tsunami. Would the ship capsize if hit by the wave out to sea? Would there be a wave big enough out to sea to hit the ship? Do the waves only get big near the cost? If the wave is big enough to capsize the ship, how can you direct the ship to prevent the capsizing of it. Would it be better to have a submarine during this time? Would a tsunami push a submarine or would there be no effect on the submarine.

So as I tried to think this all through last night, I realized how I was going to be really really tired at work. The thing is, I still have no ideal if being in a ship is a good thing if the world is coming to an end.

I just hope that I can get a good night of sleep tonight. Good sleeping everyone.
