felt like the sermon was just for you
Have you ever been at church and felt like the sermon was just for you. It was like that last weekend. To be truthful I have not had the best attendance for a while. I have been averaging about two services a month. If you have been a reader of this very tiny blog, you would know of struggles I have had with my church.
This last weekends service was about hitting the wall. About feeling like you are not getting anything from attending church. The essence of the sermon was that even though you feel like you are not getting anything from the service you are a blessing to God by showing up. You might be a bad singer with a horrible voice, (that’s me) but God loves hearing you sing. You might not even know it, but there could be a person who just needs to see you or talk to you while attending service who’s faith is strengthen by you being there. If you based where you worshiped on getting that fuzzy feeling, you will spend all your life church hopping and will never find a true home of worship.
It was a reminder that going to church is not about me and my feelings. It is all about God. A reminder that I needed to hear. I just hope and pray that keep this message at heart and my attendance will improve this year.
