What is bouncing around my head today
Over the weekend I had the chance to meet up with some of the guys I grew up with. It is great to share old stories and trade barbs back and forth with out worrying that you might offend someone. It was great learning that my friend Jeff is getting married in June.
Shaun Groves has a new song for free download. It is Kingdom Coming. It is a great song.
Last week Shaun took a group of bloggers to the Dominican Republic. Intellectually I understand poverty. Emotionally I do not understand it. I realize I need to experience it first hand and be broken by it before it can completely change me. I would love to go with Shaun the next time he take a group of bloggers, but I realize that this very little blog does not deserve to be considered.
The college I graduated from has been calling me on a regular basis asking me to give them some money. One of the questions they asked was it worth getting my degree. I said no. If you look at it financially, it was a waste of money. It took me ten years to pay off my student loans. Those loans were for only a third of what it cost to get my degree. If I started the job I am working at right now after high school, I could have bought a house to live in and be debt free by now. If I look at what I learned and how it has shaped me, it was worth the cost I paid to get my education. It sad that both part of the equation does not match up.
I hope that you all have a great day.
Thomas
