My Random Thoughts

Washington DC and tying up lose ends.

with 2 comments

This is going to be one busy week. I am taking next week off and heading to Washington DC.   I am now racing against the clock to get a bunch of lose ends tied up before heading out.

One of the lose ends is trying to find someone at work who can do some of my paperwork so I will not be buried in paperwork when I get back from DC.

I need to get my transportation issues resolved.   I am going to drive out to DC, but I need to get another car by then.  Everything goes right I will have a new set of wheels by Wednesday.

My friend Curt has offered me the chance to crash at his house while visiting DC. I plan on taking him up on this offer, but I need to get his new address and figure out how to get there.

One of the main issues that I hope gets resolved quickly is Ms. Owens contacting those of us who won the chance to attend her recording session with the finial details so we will know what is going on.    When Ginny e-mailed me saying that my name had been entered onto the guest list, she said that she would e-mail the finial details when it got closer to the recording date.   As you can guess, I am still waiting to hear back from Ginny.

I need to finalize the rest of my time in DC. I plan on going to the Smithsonian and visiting the National Mall, but I am not sure what else I am going to do while in DC.  There seems to be so much to do, but so little time to do it.

I know that there are probably a hundred other things that I need to get done before going out to DC, but these seem to be the most important things at this time.  For some reason I will probably not sleep well for the next two weeks.

  2. Hey Thomas,
Man! I’m going to be out of town for the weekend. A good friend is retiring from the Navy and the ceremony is in Norfolk. He asked me today to do the Benediction. How long are you going to be here? Have a safe trip getting here!
