What a few of the Uganda bloggers had to say today.

I want to thank everyone who has been praying for the Uganda Bloggers.

Here is what a few of the Bloggers have written so far:

The Faces

I guess on some level I tried to prepare myself for what I was going to see once we got to Uganda. I’ve never been overseas before, and truth be told I’ve probably never seen real poverty up close and personal, though I thought I had.But all I can think about right now is how I have managed to live my whole life without any idea at all about what real poverty looks like.Earlier today we visited one of Compassion’s partner churches (Compassion does all of its work through local churches), and I was deeply touched by the kindness and the faith of the people there. They told us about their ministry in the community, introduced us to some of the children involved in their programs, and answered every single question we had with absolute grace and candor.   To read more click here.

To Uganda With Compassion Day 2 …

KampalahivprojecttoddlerImagine a slum the size of Franklin, Tennessee where 30% of the children have been orphaned by HIV/Aids and hundreds of other parents are so infected with the virus they cannot care for their children. Imagine a place where those children live in homes six feet by six feet with four to six other family members with no electricity, no running water, no floors and a few sticks of furniture. To read more click here.

Humanity is so beautiful!

I can not begin to write words that would help you understand what I saw today…

This is my favorite picture of Chris and this
sweet baby. She did the same thing to my arm and
When other kids tried to touch me she just hit them
away. She was one of the many in the slum we visited
today.

I hope that if you have not sponsored a child that you will consider it. You can click the compasssion banner and it will take you to the compassion website.
