Is God pro choice or pro life?
This weeks sermon was “Is God pro choice or pro life?” You probably can guess what the conclusion was.
One of the things I learned from the service was that roughly fifty percent of the abortions performed the women felt they had no other option because of the pressured applied from a husband or a boy friend or even by family member. Another thing I learned was that if a women was shown a sonogram before having a abortion that the odds of them following through dramatically falls.
There was a testimonial given during the service. My heart was breaking as the couple explained why the had the abortion and the pain that followed. One of things that stood out was how they could not except that God had forgiven them for having a abortion. They spent many years unable to forgive themselves or each other.
At the end of the sermon the pastor relayed a message from a member of the church who also had an abortion. The one thing that has stuck in her mind was the protestors outside the clinic. The carried signs that said baby killer. It struck her and those who were in the clinic on how unloving the protester were. She said it might of made a difference if the protesters carried signs that said ”How can I help.” “There are other options. “
It amazes me how we who call ourselves Christians are so unloving. And I do include myself in this category. We rail against the wrongs ,the sins off this world, but we do not act as Jesus and love those who are dong the wrongs of this world. I wonder how much different this world would be if we who call ourselves Christians began to love instead of judging and condemning this world.
