My Random Thoughts

It seems that I hear a lot of people say that history is repeating itself. I know that it seems that history is repeating itself, but it really is not repeating itself. One of my college history professors stated it the best. Think of time as a river. When you through a stone into the river, it creates ripples and waves. When you through in another stone into the river, it will create ripple and waves, but it is not the same. It looks the same, but it is not the same. The water that the first stone hit is not the same water that the second stone hit. In fact, the first and second stones are not the same. So it is not repeating itself or mirroring itself. It something completely new. We can learn from history and maybe even stop ourself from making similar mistake, but history is not repeating itself.
